Harvesting Change: Empowering Women in Agrifood Systems
Registrations are closed
In celebration of the University of the Philippines Mindanao’s 30th Anniversary and National Women’s Month, the Office of Research, the School Of Management, and the Gender and Development Office will officially launch the guidebook entitled Inclusive Policies for Women in the Agrifood System: A Guide for Local Policymakers in the Philippines and distribute physical copies to participating local government units (LGUs). The guidebook represents UP Mindanao’s commitment to gender-related research, extension, and public service, with broad dissemination online and offline. The School of Management (SOM) Australian alumni, represented by A/Prof. Luis Hualda and University Researcher Marilou Montiflor, secured a one-year project (2020–2021) to develop a framework for local government units (LGUs) in crafting inclusive policies that empower women in agrifood systems. This effort resulted in a draft policy guidebook promoting gender equality, resilience, and women’s empowerment in agriculture.
